About Mikey
I'm a creative person and an artist who enjoys puppetry, drawing, and sculpting. I like making up characters and writing stories for them. For thirty years (since my early teens) I've performed my puppet shows around Ottawa and at puppet festivals. I've also sold original hand made toy puppets as an artisan at numerous local events. I've self published one book so far and have many in the works. I'm also proud to be gay.
Despite being a socially shy person with an introverted personality I'm actually happiest when I am able to be openly naked outside in nature, such as at a clothing optional campground or a nude beach. I have chronic depression yet being openly naked, especially outdoors, is so liberating and joyful that it obliterates my depression and makes me happy to be alive. Swimming naked is my favorite thing to do outdoors. Being openly naked out in nature is a powerful way to learn to love yourself and accept your body just the way you are.
Some of my other interests include classic or hard rock from the 50’s to the 90’s, or music that sounds like it's from that era. I'm also a huge fan of Guns N' Roses yet I also like KC and the Sunshine Band as well. Additionally, I love collecting toys and have a huge doll collection including 8 inch Mego dolls and more than 50 Star Wars dolls, all of which and more are included on my blog Mikey's Dolls. I'm also a huge Muppet freak and created the Mikey's Muppet Memorabilia Museum blog which has been online since 1997. Of course, I have a blog about my own puppetry and artwork as well called Mikey Artelle's Art and Puppetry Blog.
