Imagine if it was normal to be naked outside whenever you felt like it? I often wonder what it would be like if our society did not hold such a negative and irrational view of being naked, and instead celebrated the human body by allowing all of us to enjoy the freedom of being naked outdoors.
In my humble opinion, that would be ideal. Our society would be completely different, for the better, in terms of how we treat each other and the possessions that we value as we would no longer define ourselves with clothing. We would be more respectful and accepting of each other and of ourselves. I think we would be more inclined to take better care of our bodies and eat better. I think body positivity and diversity would be the norm rather than making people feel like they have to fit into a mold or have the body of a cover model.
Nudity would not be overly sexualized as it is now, as people would not confuse nudity and pornography as being one and the same. People would have a better understanding that our actions and behaviour can be sexual, yet simply being naked is not a sexual act. Nudity would be associated more with nature and the human spirit rather than with sex, which is just one aspect of our humanity. It would be considered as being natural to be naked rather than sinful or offensive.
The best thing about allowing people to be naked as a cultural norm is that we could go outside naked and enjoy a nice sunny day, feeling completely free and liberated from society's oppressive standards of always having to hide our body. We would no longer shame each other for being human, which is to be naked, as we would be more in tune with ourselves and our humanity.
I would rather be naked outside in the summer so I would love it if being naked was the cultural norm.
